Appointment of Deputy Dean and Co-Director of the Tayside Academic Health Science Partnership (AHSP), School of Medicine

The majority of students are based at the city campus in Dundee, with others at our Medical School at the city’s Ninewells Hospital – one of Europe’s largest teaching hospitals – and at our campus in Kirkcaldy which mainly caters for Nursing education.

The School of Medicine – one of the top five medical schools within the UK and 1st in Scotland – is globally leading in teaching and education and has developed core research themes of expertise across its four Divisions of Cancer Research, Molecular & Clinical Medicine, Neuroscience and Population Health Sciences.
The University now seeks to appoint a Deputy Dean and Co-Director of Scotland’s only Academic Health Science Partnership. A strong leader, the incoming post-holder will play a vital role across the University in profile building and in the establishment of strategic partnerships and supporting the School of Medicine as it continues to rise in success. Based in the School of Medicine, the post-holder will play a complementary role to the Dean of the School, deputising as appropriate and support the delivery of managerial responsibilities across a broad portfolio of activities. Salary will be commensurate on experience.
An executive search exercise is being undertaken by Perrett Laver who will support the University in identifying the widest possible field of qualified candidates and assist in their assessment against the requirements for the role.
