Senior Clinical Fellow in Cardiology (Middle Grade Level)
Division of Cardiothoracic Services
Posts of this type are not formally recognised for training but the department is committed to high quality training for all its staff. Furthermore there will be an opportunity to gain an MSc and we would strongly encourage and support the post holder to follow that course.
The Royal Wolverhampton NHS Trust is one of the largest acute Trusts in the West Midlands. The Heart & Lung Centre which opened in 2004 is the first in the UK to deliver an integrated cardiothoracic and cardiology service and has grown to become one of the highest volume cardiothoracic units in the region.
The Centre performs in excess of 1,300 PCI’s per year of which 500 are primary procedures undertaken in the setting of acute myocardial infarction. We also have active programmes in electrophysiology, device implantation, advanced imaging and TAVI.
