Locum Consultant Paediatric and Fetal Cardiologist
This is a full-time 10 PA Locum Consultant Paediatric Cardiology post based at the Bristol Royal Hospital for Children.
This is a post that supports the development of the congenital heart disease service. The appointee will join a team of 8.8 whole time equivalent Paediatric Cardiologists, 4 Adult Congenital Cardiologists and 3 Consultant Congenital Cardiac Surgeons who provide a comprehensive congenital cardiac service for cardiology and cardiac surgery to the South West Region and to South Wales, serving a population of approximately 6 million.
The Congenital Heart Disease Department offers an integrated service from fetal to adult life and the post holder will be expected to participate in both the paediatric cardiology and fetal cardiology service. This is a non-invasive paediatric cardiology position with the expectation that the post-holder will enhance the delivery of care to both the fetal and paediatric cardiology patients.
The Congenital Heart Disease department is based at the Children’s Hospital and is part of the Paediatric Critical Care Group within the Division which includes PICU, the HDUs and Congenital Cardiac Services. There is an active surgical and interventional programme with cross-divisional working for congenital patients between the Division of Women’s & Children’s, Division of Diagnostic & Therapeutics, and Division of Specialist Services which provides Adult Cardiology, Adult Cardiac Surgical Services, Adult Congenital Cardiology (ACHD) and Surgery.
