Applications are invited for a Consultant post in Old Age Liaison Psychiatry at Addenbrookes Hospital. This is a part-time post but there are opportunities to increase this to a full-time post, with additional sessions in Community Old Age Psychiatry or within the trust-wide Psychological Medicine Service.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a cohesive and enthusiastic growing team of Consultants providing Liaison Psychiatry for working age and older adults at Addenbrookes Hospital. The department is research active and participates in teaching and training across the hospital and medical school. In particular, the postholder will work within the Older Adult part of the service, alongside two Consultants and highly motivated senior nursing colleagues.

The team is well integrated with the acute hospital and has a close working relationship with Medicine for the Elderly. The Liaison Psychiatry service has been accredited as excellent by RCPsych PLAN and has won national awards in delivery of high-quality and compassionate care.

Addenbrookes Hospital is a large teaching hospital which provides emergency, surgical and medical services to the local population, and includes the Rosie Hospital, which provides women’s and maternity services. The hospital is also a centre of excellence for specialist services and receives regional and national referrals for organ transplantation, neurosciences, renal medicine, major trauma, treatment of rare cancers, medical genetics and paediatrics.

Cambridgeshire and Peterborough NHS Foundation Trust (CPFT) provides integrated community and mental health, learning disability and social care services of the highest standard due to our continued commitment to quality and service improvement. We aim to support people of all ages to achieve the very best they can for their health and wellbeing. To ensure that we achieve this goal, we look to recruit candidates of a high calibre that share our passion for delivering excellent service user care, research and education.
