We are looking for our next intake of doctors for August 2017 at CT1/2 level to work on the medical wards at Northampton General Hospital in addition to acute medical experience on the assessment units for a 12 month rotation, with possibilities for extension.
The following specialty wards are part of the program: Cardiology, Respiratory, Gastroenterology, Elderly medicine, Hyperacute and Acute Stroke, Diabetes, Haematology/Oncology and Acute Medicine. All specialties have the full range of interventional and diagnostic services including an Interventional Heart Centre, Hyperacute Stroke unit, Acute Renal unit and autologous stem cell transplantation within the Haematology unit. Individual support and guidance is provided from your allocated consultant supervisor.
Each rotation is for 4 months but this could be extended depending on the interest of the applicant. In addition there are options for evening and weekend shifts on the acute assessment units. The acute medical admission pathway is part of the new model of care and is well supported by experienced physician associates.
