North Manchester General Hospital

The Pennine Acute Hospitals NHS Trust is seeking to recruit a dynamic Consultant in Emergency Medicine to join our existing team. In particular we are looking for applicants who wish to develop in specific areas, with SPA time allocated for education, service improvement, governance and audit.

Applicants who are aspiring to take on future leadership roles will be welcomed as there are potential future opportunities within Manchester. The department has close links with Central Manchester Teaching Hospitals as well as Salford Royal Hospitals.

The Department is within the Division of Medicine, and serves the population of North Manchester and surrounding areas. The Trust provides a service from the North Manchester General Hospital (NMGH) with referrals received from the community teams, GPs and hospital consultant colleagues.

During 2015/16 the Emergency Department at NMGH saw over 99,100 patients including over 27,414 children and 24,228 ambulances. There are strong working links with all the clinical areas and particularly the Acute Medicine team.

We are: Quality Driven, Responsible, and Compassionate.

All Trust sites are within easy reach of Manchester city centre which offers a wealth of leisure and social opportunities, easily accessible by road or public transport.

You must be on the Specialist register or within six months of achieving a CCT (or equivalent) at the date of interview.

All requests for an informal visit or discussion are welcomed. Please contact Mr Jimmy Stuart, Divisional Medical Director, Consultant in Emergency Medicine on 0161 720 2672 or Dr Anton Sinniah, Deputy Medical Director, Consultant in Respiratory & Acute Medicine on 0161 604 5465 or Mr Paul Tipping, Directorate Manager on 0161 720 2536.
