Locum Consultant Paediatrician

Applications are invited for a locum Consultant Paediatrician experienced in Child Protection, safeguarding to start as soon as possible in Jersey. We are seeking a locum Consultant Paediatrician to join three consultants in providing general paediatric services including eonatal medicine in Jersey General Hospital. We are planning to appoint to a substantive appointment in the near future.
The post-holder will take an active role with the Consultant Paediatric Lead for child protection and safeguarding in Jersey. The fixed term of this contract will be for up to 1 year.
The Department of Paediatrics is small, enthusiastic and friendly. We have experienced SAS resident staff as well as FY2 doctors. There are approximately 1000 deliveries a year.
Infants under 30 weeks gestation or those requiring tertiary services are transferred to
neonatal Intensive Care services in the UK. We have excellent links with Southampton Children’s Hospital, including the Paediatric Intensive Care Unit who provide retrieval services. There is close cooperation with Children’s Social Care for child protection and safeguarding.
Under Jersey Law, applicants must possess FULL registration with the General Medical Council and hold a licence to practise.
