The hospital is a 650-bed teaching hospital and the Emergency Department treats over 54,000 patients annually. It covers a population of approximately 350,000 people. The Mental Health centre has a 32 bed Acute Inpatient Psychiatric unit, a 12 bed High Dependency unit and a 12 bed Older Persons Mental Health unit. There is also a 6 bed Psychiatric Emergency Care centre.
As a staff specialist you will be required to participate at a senior level in the development, implementation and review of policy, procedures and clinical practice standards. You will also thrive on providing clinical education in mental health, actively participate in research, and initiate the development and implementation of evidence informed policies and procedures.

To be successful in applying for this position you will be a strong team player, enjoy working collaboratively and thrive on being involved in leadership and improving practice.
You will hold Fellowship with the Royal Australasian and New Zealand College of Psychiatry and have specialist general registration with AHPRA. Alternatively you must hold FRANZCP equivalent, have experience from a comparable country and be eligible for registration.
