Consultant in Anaesthesia and Pain Medicine
Applications are invited for the post of Consultant in Anaesthesia and Pain Medicine at the Royal Cornwall Hospital in Truro
The post is a new consultant post with service commitments split between Anaesthesia and Pain Medicine.
The appointee will join a friendly Pain Service team of five consultants, seven nurses, extended scope physiotherapists and psychologists providing inpatient and outpatient care across Cornwall. The Pain Service provides interventional pain treatment (including spinal cord stimulation and intrathecal pumps), a pain management program and nurse led treatments such as acupuncture.
The Anaesthetic Department comprises 50 consultants providing care across surgical specialties with the exception of Thoracic, Cardiac and Neurosurgery. The post holder will contribute to the consultant anaesthetic on call rota.
For new consultants the job plan for this post will include 2.5 SPAs for the first year.
Applicants are required to be on the GMC Specialist Register, or within six months of their expected date of receipt of a CCT/EU equivalent certification at the time of interview. Applications are welcomed from those unable to work full time for personal reasons or those wishing to job-share.
