We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and committed individual to the position of Consultant Gastroenterologist at Worthing Hospital, Western Sussex Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
This post represents the final phase of a successful period of recruitment and departmental expansion at Worthing in recent months. You will join an evolving team of consultants and contribute to the development of specialist contemporary gastroenterological services for the West Sussex population. Trust is formed by the amalgamation of the highly performing Worthing & Southlands Hospitals NHS Trust and St Richard’s Hospital, Chichester; providing healthcare for nearly 500,000 people. We are a forward looking and innovative trust whose purpose is to provide high quality emergency and elective care for the people of West Sussex.
In the last few years we have seen rising demand in the sub-specialty of Hepatology with increasing presentations of ARLD, NASH and complications of end stage cirrhosis. An ability to complement the existing departmental expertise in this regard would be desirable although other sub-specialties could be considered for the right candidate. The gastroenterology
department delivers a cross site GI bleeding and acute Gastroenterology on call service on both hospital sites with no general internal medicine duties.
