This is a new Clinical Senior Lecturer Post (50:50 clinical/academic) in the NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde (NHS GGC) Microbiology service and the Institute of Infection, Immunity and Inflammation in the University of Glasgow. The postholder will have direct responsibility for developing research programmes bridging the activities and interests of the NHS diagnostic laboratory and the Institute.
The NHS GGC Microbiology service comprises 3 laboratories based in the Royal Infirmary, the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital and the Royal Alexandra Hospital. This post will be based in the North Sector in the recently refurbished laboratory suite in the New Lister Building at the Royal Infirmary. The Institute of Infection, Immunity and Inflammation is part of the College of Medical, Veterinary and Life Sciences. The Institute contains scientists and clinical investigators of global repute and include geneticists, molecular and cell biologists, biochemists, immunologists,
bacteriologists, virologists, parasitologists, pathologists and clinical investigators. This expertise is supported by state of the art basic science technology.
Given the nature of the post the appointee will be expected to have a strong track record in both clinical and translational research.
