Medical Member Appointments (part time)
Applications are invited from qualified medical practitioners to become panel members of the Pensions Appeal Tribunals for Scotland (PATS). Vacancies exist for three general medical members and two psychiatrists.
PATS hear appeals for war disablement pensions arising from service in the Armed Forces.
Appointments are made by the Lord President of the Court of Session.
Candidates should be duly qualified medical practitioners of at least seven years standing. Psychiatric member candidates should be Members of the Royal College of Psychiatrists.
All hearings are in Edinburgh. The sitting fee is £478.43, with travel expenses paid within Scotland. You are likely to be allocated ten sitting days per year.
Interviews are scheduled for late June 2017, with successful candidates being appointed by October 2017.
