We are looking to appoint an ambitious and dynamic Consultant in Intensive Care to support the recent expansion in service delivered by our Department. The Critical Care Unit has recently expanded to a total of 18 beds. There is also an outreach team seven days per week.

North Middlesex University Hospital NHS Trust is one of London’s major Acute Hospital Trusts and is situated in Edmonton in North London. The Trust serves the boroughs of Enfield, Haringey and also draws patients from Barnet and Waltham Forest. This is a catchment area of around one million residents and covers a highly diverse population with affluent wards as well as areas of complex deprivation and serious health need.

The environment in which we deliver care has dramatically changed over the past few years. Our hospital development, which opened in June 2010, houses emergency, surgical and adult inpatient care in a state of the art environment.

The implementation of the Barnet, Enfield and Haringey (BEH) Clinical Strategy in 2013 has seen over 80% of our clinical services provided out of facilities that are less than 5 years old.

North Middlesex University Hospital operates in a challenging NHS Environment.

The recent critical CQC report has been a wake-up call; we are a high quality, aspirational team oriented strongly towards our Trust values of ‘Caring’, ‘Helpful’, ‘Open & Honest’ and ‘Teamwork’. We intend to form a new partnership within the future Royal Free Group of Hospitals, working together towards excellent care, financial stability and a thriving workforce.

The Trust is an Equal Opportunities Employer. We provide a smoke free work environment. Due to the nature of this post, an enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service search will be conducted on the successful applicant.

It is essential you have full GMC Registration and are either included on the Specialist Register, or within 6 months of CCT at the time of interview.
