Are you?

  • Passionate about putting the patient at the heart of all you do?
  • Able to inspire and motivate people?
  • Energetic and driven, resilient and credible?
  • In agreement with the Health Boards’ Values and Behaviours Framework?
  • Would you like to work where housing is affordable and education is excellent?

Do you dream of working amongst some of the UK’s most magnificent mountains, rivers and lakes? Whether you’re a hill walker, mountaineer, paddler or climber, Powys’ natural environment has it all. (Our hundreds of miles of cycle routes and mountain bike trails aren’t bad either).

If you can answer yes to all the above we want to hear from you

Powys is the largest county of Wales with Snowdonia to the North and Brecon Beacons in the south. As the largest county geographically, Powys has the lowest population density in Wales covering only 4.5% of the population of Wales. It is reported as one of the happiest place to live as the outstanding natural beauty makes it a wonderfully unique place to work where there are ample opportunities to pursue outdoor activities.

We are a forward thinking and innovative Health Board and as a result we have won awards for innovation. We are already in the process of piloting the use of technology and developing unique and modern ways of delivering a high quality care to our residents. The use of telemedicine, on line therapies, virtual wards and various other unique ways of working are now being developed.

The highest priority for our health board is to continue to improve the quality of care we provide for our patients.

By joining our Older Adult Mental Health Service team covering Ystradgynlais on part-time basis, you’ll help people live life to the full. You’ll find Powys offers everything you need for true fulfilment, both professionally and personally.
