Consultant in Cardiothoracic Radiology
Applications are invited for a Consultant Radiologist with an interest in Cardiothoracic Imaging, based at Cambridge University Hospital. We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic radiologist to join our radiology team, of approximately 50 consultants, both NHS and University based, and 32 StRs. We have a close working relationship with the respiratory and cardiology departments and are actively involved in developing cardiothoracic services and in clinical research trials.
Thoracic services at Addenbrooke’s include lung cancer, COPD (Endobronchial valves), interstitial lung disease (combined with Papworth), respiratory immunology disease, asthma and thoracic intervention (medical thoracoscopy, bronchial thermoplasty and EBUS) with regional referrals for several of these services. The successful candidate will be involved in the review of specialist thoracic imaging that is integral to support these services.
The candidate in particular will support the work of the pleural team, taking the weekly pleural MDT meeting and supporting other specialist respiratory MDTs. Cardiac CT and MRI are also performed on-site. The candidate will also contribute to the general workload of the department.
The department is well equipped with state-of-the-art machines including: 5 Siemens CT scanners, 1 PET-CT scanner, 6 GE MRI scanners and an ultrasound suite with 8 Toshiba US machines.
You will be fully registered with the GMC and ideally have a CCT in Radiology or be within six months of award of CCT at the time of interview. Applications are welcomed from those unable to work full time for personal reasons or those wishing to job-share.
