Speciality Doctor for Old Age in Walsall

Dudley and Walsall provides all age mental health services from CAMHS to Older Adults in the two Black Country localities of Dudley and Walsall. We have shown a strong commitment to delivering excellent and safe services since we became one Trust nine years ago, and pride ourselves on being able to attract and retain the highest quality of medical professionals. We are a teaching Trust, teaching undergraduates from Birmingham Medical School, and part of the Black Country training scheme with core and higher specialist trainees from the West Midlands School of Psychiatry.

Applicants are invited to apply for one of a number of posts available as a Specialty Doctor in the Dudley and Walsall Mental Health Partnership NHS Trust to join medical colleagues providing continuity of care for a sector population, including outpatient; community and inpatient care.
Post 2 – Specialty doctor for Old Age Psychiatry
The holder of this post will work with three consultants; SAS doctors and trainee psychiatrists as well as Psychologists, OT’s and Nurses working in teams both on the inpatient wards; day hospital and in the community, providing continuity and which we believe delivers better care. We are developing Older Adult services in collaboration with commissioners and there will be opportunities to infl uence the services to the benefit of patients and their families; it is likely to include Home Treatment teams and in-reach services to General Practice.Specialty Doctors will cover on average 1:11 out of hours second on-call rota.

Applicants for the above post should have, or should be eligible for a CCST and eligible onto the Specialist Register within three months of the interview date. Full GMC Registration, approval under Section 12(2) of the Mental Health Act and relevant experience in child and adolescent psychiatry.
