Consultant in Histopathology
We work in a modern, light and airy building on a green field site.
Each of our 19 consultants has their own office with up to date IT equipment including voice-recognition software.
Workload is controlled by an innovative ‘pull’ system allowing time for SPA activities, teaching and research. Facilities for digital reporting will be in place within the next 12 months.
The working environment is supportive and friendly; there are good relations with both clinical colleagues and academics at the UEA. We have a newly opened Biorepository and are involved in the collection of samples for the Genomics England 100,000 Genome Project. The laboratory is UKAS accredited, fully staffed and BMS cut-up is well established. Private practice and work for HM Coroners are optional extras. A number of consultants work part- time and we encourage flexible working to ensure a healthy work/life balance.
Norwich is a ‘fine city’ with a castle, two cathedrals and two universities. Housing costs are reasonable, schools are excellent and leisure activities, from watersports to walking, are easily accessible both on the Broads and at the coast. There is a vibrant arts scene including an annual festival of music, literature, poetry and performing arts.
Come and visit us- we will offer overnight accommodation and an evening meal to allow time for you to get to know us, the city and the county better.
