Kidz First Children’s Hospital and Community Health has an exciting opportunity for a permanent Consultant Paediatrician to join our experienced and energetic team.
The primary purpose of this position is to provide specialist paediatric medical assessment and ongoing management where required for children and young people predominantly in the Developmental/ Community Paediatrics setting.
This position will have developmental/disability focus and will join our existing experienced disability team. There is also an opportunity to develop community paediatric interests. We are therefore looking for a paediatrician with specialist development/disability training and experience and an interest in Community Paediatrics.
The post is up to 0.8 FTE with no after-hours component except for winter where there is an opportunity to participate on the inpatient winter roster (both in-hours and after hours).

At Kidz First Children’s Hospital and Community Health, secondary acute care is provided in emergency and inpatient settings, while a comprehensive range of outpatient/ambulatory care is delivered at the Manukau SuperClinic and other community based facilities.
The suitable candidate will be a Specialist Paediatrician and hold or be eligible for registration with the New Zealand Medical Council with a paediatric vocational scope of practice. Community Child Health training would be preferred. Senior advanced trainees who are near completion of training may also be considered. A proven ability or competence in working with Maaori, Pacific and culturally diverse population is preferred.
