Colchester Hospital University NHS Foundation Trust (CHUFT) has strong research and academic links to the University of Essex and Anglia Ruskin University, in addition to the East of England and London Deaneries.

Located only 50 minutes from London, we provide specialist healthcare services to the area of North East Essex and South Suffolk, serving a local population of approximately 370,000 people.

This is an exciting time for CHUFT as we embark upon a period of transformational change aimed at improving our services and achieving our vision of ‘delivering great healthcare to every patient, every day’. We are proud to say that over 90% of the patients we serve would recommend us to friends and family.

Our recent investment in state-of-the-art medical technology and advanced care facilities for the A&E Department provide excellent career opportunities for our staff. Our department is the main Emergency Department for north east Essex and is based at Colchester General Hospital. Following its recent expansion and refurbishment, we are now looking for a full-time Clinical Lead in Emergency Medicine to join our talented and friendly team.

Colchester is a thriving modern town, surrounded by beautiful countryside. The town has excellent transport links, making it a popular choice for those wanting a better quality of life, without losing connections to London and larger cities.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and forward-thinking individual who can demonstrate the ability to embrace the challenges facing Emergency Medicine. The appointee will provide strong clinical leadership to the Department and will be responsible for the training and development of team members and junior medical staff.

This post has an initial job plan of 14 PAs. We are flexible with our job plans and willing to accommodate the needs and desires of our staff.

To enquire about the position please contact Dr Kazim Mirza (Consultant Lead) or Louise Notley (Divisional Director)
