Consultant Community Paediatrician
Wrightington Wigan and Leigh NHS Foundation Trust are looking to appoint a substantive 10 PA post for a Consultant Community Paediatrician.
They should have relevant experience and ideally a CCT in Community Child Health or Neurodisability. The post will involve responsibilities for the management of children with complex Neurodisability, learning, behavioural and emotional difficulties. The post holder should have adequate experience in the assessment and management of conditions such as ASD and ADHD. The post includes 1 session of day time child protection cover.
The postholder will also be the lead doctor for SUDC in Wigan and contribute to the greater Manchester rota 6 weeks per year. This is equivalent to 2PA of weekly activity and acknowledged with compensatory time off.
The appointee will see patients at the outpatients on the Thomas Linacre, Leigh Infirmary sites as well as Platt Bridge Health centre. There may be the opportunity to do special school clinics. There are visiting clinics in Cardiology, Rheumatology, Neurology, Nephrology, Urology and Immunology by specialists from the tertiary children’s hospitals in the region.
You must be fully registered with the GMC and hold a license to practice and be on the Specialist Register, or be within 6 months of attaining your CCT or equivalent at the interview stage.
