Locum Consultant Paediatrician
10 Programmed Activities
The Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital NHS Trust (RNOH) is the largest orthopaedic hospital in the UK, and is regarded as a leader in the field of orthopaedics both in the UK and world-wide. The RNOH provides a comprehensive range of neuro-musculoskeletal health care, ranging from acute spinal injury or complex bone tumour to orthopaedic medicine and specialist rehabilitation. This broad range of services is unique within the NHS.
An opportunity has arisen for a full time Consultant Paediatrician to join our team of five Paediatric Consultants working in a busy environment. This will initially be as a 6 month locum post, while we arrange a substantive post. The appointee would be expected to work closely with the multi-disciplinary team of surgeons, spinal cord injury physicians and psychology/psychiatry support team. The current RNOH strategy is to broaden and diversify the Paediatric medical services. The Adult Medical services currently include a large rheumatology, chronic pain and rehabilitation service and we are home to the Regional Sarcoma service and so we envision expansion into these arenas within paediatrics.
The department has an active education programme and the successful applicant will be encouraged to contribute to both the Departments research and education activities.
The successful candidate will be expected to participate in the on-call rota for the unit.
For an informal visit to the Paediatric Unit or for further information please Dr Zilla Huma, Clinical Director at Zilla.firstname.lastname@example.org or by phone on 020 8909 5386.
