Three Consultant Posts In Respiratory Medicine
We are at an exciting stage of expansion of the respiratory department in Northampton General Hospital and we are now looking for three consultants (2 new posts and 1 to replace an existing colleague) to join our friendly and enthusiastic team.
We are looking to expand our services particularly into home NIV, thoracoscopy and running hot clinics.Applicants with other specialist interests can also be accommodated.
Our current body of 5 consultants (WTE 3.8) is well supported by two respiratory physiologists, a team of COPD outreach nurses and phys-iotherapists (RESTART), a team of Macmillan nurses, secretaries and reception staff.
We provide specialists clinics in pleural disease, lung cancer and TB and have a bronchoscopy and EBUS service.All specialist consultants within the hospital support the general medical take out of hours.
Northampton is an historic town of England at the centre of the country and is an exciting place to be situated.
The strong motorway and rail network allow much of the country can be reached within 2 hours including Milton Keynes, the Norfolk Coast, London and Birmingham.
Northamptonshire has a great deal to offer including, picturesque country villages with cycle, walking, canals and public houses a plenty.
There is the Saints Rugby team, a football stadium (the Cobblers) and plenty of other sporting opportunities.There is also a theatre with many well-known productions on offer as well as cinemas, and other festivals.
All applicants must possess a recognised medical degree, MRCP or equivalent and must be on the specialist register for Respiratory and Acute / General InternalMedicine on the day of interview.
