Consultant Microbiologist x2
An exciting opportunity has arisen for two enthusiastic, forward thinking Consultant Microbiologist to join our existing team to further develop the clinical microbiology and infection prevention service at the University Hospitals of North Midlands NHS Trust (UHNM). These are substantive, full time (10 PA) general and specialist replacement posts. Part time hours may be considered for suitably qualified candidates.
The successful applicant(s) will work as part of a team of six Consultant Medical Microbiologists (5.85 WTE), providing clinical medical microbiology, antimicrobial management and infection prevention and control services for the Trust, surrounding GPs and wider service users. It is envisaged the posts will allow for the provision of a greater ward presence within the Trust and to bring expertise in infection management nearer to the point of admission to ensure the appropriate and cost effective use of laboratory services, to strengthen the Trusts antimicrobial stewardship strategy as well as supporting infection prevention and control initiatives.

Candidates are required to hold a Full registration with the GMC /are on the GMC Specialist register for Microbiology or within 6 months of CCT from the date of interview and have Mb ChB or evidence of equivalent qualification.
