We are seeking to recruit a full time Clinical Research Fellow to work with the Cardiac Electrophysiology (EP) team at Liverpool Heart and Chest Hospital (LHCH) starting August 2017. This post is initially for a period of 12 months and is extendable to up to three years, dependent upon satisfactory progress.

LHCH is one of the largest cardiac centers in the United Kingdom, and the EP team of 7 consultants delivers around 1500 EP cases annually. We have a strong and rapidly growing portfolio of EP research, and our previous research fellows have been awarded high class MD (res) degrees, and research awards. The current post is funded by a grant to support a multicentre clinical trial involving catheter ablation for atrial arrhythmias. The post will offer high quality formal academic training, and it is expected that the work will lead to a MD/PhD degree, and to several scientific publications.

The candidate should have completed two years of Core Medical Training or equivalent, and should be able to demonstrate a strong interest in research and ideally aim to pursue a career in cardiology. More senior level candidates are also very welcome to apply. Contribution to the on-call rota for cardiology is available for suitable candidates.
