Consultant Urological Surgeon
Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board wishes to appoint a Substantive Consultant Urological Surgeon.
The successful appointee will be expected to work closely with other colleagues to share specialty interests and experience in either Stone Disease or Upper Tract Laparoscopy would be an advantage.
The Department of Urology at Ysbyty Gwynedd provides a full range of urological services both on the main site and at Llandudno Hospital. A business case for robotic surgery is soon to be submitted to Welsh Government; put forward as a multi-specialty Pelvic Oncology bid with General Surgery and Gynaecology. It is envisaged that if the appointee has an interest in Upper Tract Laparoscopy, he or she will take part in developing a Partial Nephrectomy Robotic Service for BCUHB.
Bangor is situated in the beautiful North Wales countryside on the edge of the Snowdonia National Park. There are numerous attractive options for places to live in the local area (house prices compare favourably with other parts of the UK) and there is a range of high quality state and independent schools.
Interested candidates are strongly encouraged to visit and are invited to contact the Urology Department on 01248 384752 (Mr Alexandrou) or 01248 384637 (Mr Ahiaku).
