We are recruiting to four new consultant roles to add to our existing team.

This is an exciting time to be joining our comprehensive Specialist Palliative Care Service as we invest in our multi-disciplinary team.

We are looking for doctors who want to be part of shaping the service to meet the needs of our diverse community.

Barts Health covers five sites, St Bartholomew’s Hospital (SBH), The Royal London Hospital (RLH), Mile End Hospital (MEH), Whipps Cross University Hospital (WXH) and Newham University Hospital (NUH).

Post 1: The Royal London Hospital & St Joseph’s Hospice, Community Palliative Care Team, Tower Hamlets

This post serves hospital and community, and will see you provide continuity across both settings, as you’ll be part of the consultant team at the RLH and share in providing medical support to the Community Palliative Care Team based at St Joseph’s Hospice, covering the Borough of Tower Hamlets.

Post 2: The Royal London Hospital & St Bartholomew’s Hospital

This post is based mainly at RLH. Depending on the successful candidate’s interest and experience, you’ll be offered the opportunity to lead in developing the team’s work with the multidisciplinary teams in Renal, Liver, Neurology, Cardiology, Respiratory and ITU services.

At SBH, the focus will be on developing palliative care services for patients with metastatic breast cancer.

Post 3: St Bartholomew’s Hospital & Newham University Hospital

This post will have responsibility for developing palliative care services for patients cared for at Barts Heart Centre and ITU, as well as strengthening the provision at NUH.

Post 4: Whipps Cross University Hospital and Lead for education

Job Ref: 259-MEDC256WXH

This post will have lead responsibility for developing palliative care and EOLC education for staff and students across the whole trust. This will involve working closely with the EOLC Education Programme Manager and team. As a member of the hospital team and depending on your interest and experience, you will lead in developing SPC integration with Older People’s Services, Cardiology and Respiratory services.
