Applications are invited for the post of Consultant in Critical Care and Anaesthesia in a busy Cardiothoracic Intensive Care Unit, with 20 beds, admitting approximately 1000 patients per year, and an associated 26 bedded High Dependency Unit. 

The critical care team cares for patients utilising a wide a range of organ support therapies including extracorporeal haemodynamic and respiratory support including providing a nationally commissioned adult respiratory ECMO service. The post will include cardiothoracic anaesthesia provision in the suite of six theatres including a state of the art hybrid theatre, and 5 catheter laboratories.

Applicants should be fully trained in intensive care, with a minimum of one years’ experience at fellow or consultant level in cardiothoracic anaesthesia, and are required to be fully registered Medical Practitioners on the GMC’s Specialist Register, or be eligible for admission to the Register within six months from date of interview for the post.
