We are looking for individuals to fill 5 new consultant posts in Emergency Medicine to join the current team of 14 consultants with the ultimate aim of establishing a 24 consultant establishment. This is an excellent opportunity to join a young, dynamic team of consultants, currently training FY, ACCS, GPST and EM HSTs within the department. At present we provide 16 hours a day consultant led and delivered care, with 24/7 middle grade support to provide one of the best patient experiences in the country seeing over 120,000 patients per year.
The NNUH ED is an accredited and busy Trauma Unit working closely with the regional Trauma network. There is a 24/7 trauma team led by senior ED doctors and we currently have the best TARN figures in the East of England. The CQC recently rated the Emergency Department at the NNUH as outstanding in two domains and good overall in this department. The Nursing staff received a special recognition regarding the excellent care they provide.
The Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital has 1,000 beds and serves a population of over 700,000. The hospital is adjacent to the University of East Anglia, the Medical School established in 2002 and the world renowned Norwich Research Park. This ensures that our staff have unqualified access to research development and opportunities for under and postgraduate teaching.
Norwich is quite rightly described as “a fine city.” Its skyline is dominated by a graceful cathedral and a massive Norman castle. It boasts countless attractions to interest and intrigue its residents, with all of the modern facilities you would expect in a vibrant city. Norwich schools are rated as some of the best within the country. The surrounding Norfolk countryside and long stretches of coastline are renowned for its beauty and tranquillity. The Norfolk Broads provide a quintessential rural getaway with the North Norfolk villages providing a more traditional ambience.
