Founded by Mr. Richard Villar and based at The Villar Bajwa Practice (Princess Grace Hospital, London and Spire Cambridge Lea Hospital, Cambridge), this busy and popular post offers extensive exposure to young adult hip, pioneering techniques in hip arthroscopy, sports injuries of hip and knee, joint preservation surgery including modern biologics, bone-conserving arthroplasty.
The Villar Bajwa Practice (www.villarbajwa.com) is supported by two orthopaedic surgeons, sports physicians, rehab unit, research and admin staff. Many premier athletes are seen. Also offered is editing experience with Journal of Hip Preservation Surgery and research-methodology tuition. Involvement in research, leading to publication, is expected of the successful candidate.
Fellow’s training will be supervised, however there is the possibility of independent operating and, as such, prospective candidates must be on the Specialist Register for Trauma & Orthopaedics, FRCS (Orth) or equivalent. A research track record, good command of the English language and impeccable bedside manners are essential.
Salary is negotiable and will be discussed at interview. All shortlisted candidates will be expected to take an editing test. Fellowship is for one-year and applications are invited asap.
