Consultant General Surgeon with a specialist interest in Upper Gastrointestinal Surgery

This substantive post offers an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic general surgeon with a specialist interest in benign upper gastrointestinal surgery to join our dynamic department. 

The post will support the acute surgical services following reconfiguration of emergency general surgery to the Wakefield site, while complementing the sub-specialty interests within the department. 

The surgical department is undergoing major reconfiguration with rationalisation of services in order to ensure excellence in patient care. The post holder will be expected to participate in the on-call general surgery rota on a 1:7 basis with an upper GI and colorectal consultant on call each day. Applicants should possess or be within six months of attaining aUK CCT or equivalent at the time of the advisory appointments committee.
