Available for three years the post holder will be assigned to the critical care research team within the Centre for Experimental Medicine at Queen’s University of Belfast and will have responsibility for the day-to-day management of a multi-centre clinical trial of a novel mesenchymal stromal cell (MSC) for the treatment of patients with Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome (ARDS). Additionally the post-holder will undertake a laboratory study of the effect of these MSCs on biochemical and immunological parameters of pulmonary and systemic inflammation and injury by the analyses of patient samples, complemented where necessary by basic laboratory studies. The successful applicant must be medically qualified with full GMC registration, and a license to practice.

Salary scale: £31,614 - £47,647 per annum (Specialist Registrar Scale) Closing date: Monday, 24 April 2017
