Consultants in Gastroenterology
Salford Royal NHS Foundation Trust has one of the strongest track records of providing excellent Patient Care Services, financial delivery and staff satisfaction in the NHS. The Trust provides a wide range of Tertiary and Secondary Services. It is a major Teaching Hospital and Foundation Trust having a total budget of £240 million, and 7,000 staff.
You will join an enthusiastic team of eleven Medical Gastroenterologists supported by 5 Specialty Radiologists, 4 Gastro-Intestinal (GI) Pathologists, and 13 GI Surgical Consultants.
There is a fully-equipped JAG-accredited endoscopy unit, offering EUS and other advanced GI endoscopic techniques. The GI department also has a major interest in inflammatory bowel disease and is one of the two national intestinal failure units.
You will be expected to further develop the gastroenterology service, and a specialist interest can be accommodated (e.g. Clinical Nutrition, Hepatology, Advanced Endoscopy including ERCP). There will also be ample opportunities for research and quality improvement developments.
A Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) in Gastroenterology and General Internal Medicine is required. You will join the 7 day specialist gastroenterology service (1:10 basis) and contribute accordingly to out of hours emergency endoscopy rota (1:10 basis).
