Following on the success of recent recruitment, Mid Cheshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust are looking to recruit a further two Consultant Gastroenterologists who will help to further expand the gastroenterology services provided to our population. The Trust currently provides the flag ship Cheshire-wide Bowel Screening Programme and was accepted for the ‘age expansion’ programme in 2013 and the Bowel Scope Phase One in May 2014.
Along with this flag ship service, the Trust also provides a full range of gastroenterology services including upper and lower endoscopy, ERCP, specialist inflammatory bowel disease clinics, a hepatology service and an anaemia clinic.
These services are provided from one Gastroenterology ward.
The new team will also be expected to build upon the close working relationships with the upper and lower gastrointestinal surgeons.
A sub-specialist interest in gastroenterology would be welcomed by the Trust.
Whilst there is no commitment to the general medical on call rota, the new team of Consultants will be required to begin the process of designing and implementing a robust 24/7 upper gastrointestinal bleeding rota for the Trust, which may be in collaboration with our neighbouring strategic partner the University Hospital of North Midlands . Aspects of your work will be undertaken in our new world class operating theatres and newly refurbished day treatment centre and endoscopy suite, including additional endoscopy capacity and upgraded digital imaging facilities.
Not only would you be instrumental in crafting a new team, your vision in transforming services will be pivotal in helping to ensure the long term sustainability of gastroenterology services and the Trust. Creating sustainability will take many forms including developing new models of care with Primary Care and other providers, supporting the development of alternative healthcare roles and establishing external partnerships and relationships with such organisations as Keele University, where there is a keen interest to develop our Research and Development portfolio and expand the Trust’s involvement in medical education. Strong educational relationships and support are seen as key to developing our workforce for the future.
The Trust is committed to the ongoing education and development of staff and to support your development you will be provided with opportunities to undertake clinical and leadership development, both internally and externally.
You will be joining a progressive, successful, award winning Foundation Trust.
You and your colleagues will be working in a Trust which is considered to be in the top 120 employers in the NHS and is performing in the top 10% of Acute Trusts, after being rated as GOOD by the CQC.
Boasting some of the best schools in the country and easy access to a wide range of indoor and outdoor activities, you will find Cheshire the perfect place to work, raise a family, enjoy social pursuits or simply relax in some of the most beautiful countryside our country has to offer.
The Trust’s new recruitment premium means that individuals choosing to come and work at MCHFT in the role of Consultant Gastroenterologist will benefit from an additional £22,800 on appointment, in addition to their basic salary, with an additional £22,800 paid at the completion of four years service.
The premiums are in addition to relocation packages of up to £8,000 being offered by the Trust to successful candidates.
