General Practitioner, Prison Healthcare

Interested in improving the health of the most vulnerable and enhancing the health status of an under-represented community?
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a friendly, enthusiastic and progressive group of GPs within the Prison Healthcare service in Northern Ireland, encompassing HMP Maghaberry, HMP Magilligan and HMP Hydebank Wood College and Women’s Prison.
We are looking for motivated and enthusiastic GPs to join our multi-disciplinary team, consisting of a practice manager, senior nurses, primary care nurses, mental health, addictions and allied health professionals at each site.
With approximately 900 patients in HMP Maghaberry, 500 in HMP Magilligan and 200 in Hydebank Wood College, we have an ethos of treating our patients with empathy and respect whilst maintaining and developing outstanding clinical practice.
We are dedicated to providing excellent healthcare to a population that have high levels of mental and physical ill health, vulnerability and lack of engagement with community services. This your opportunity to make a difference!
