CAMBRIDGESHIRE & PETERBOROUGH NHS FOUNDATION TRUST (CPFT) IN COLLABORATION WITH THE UNIVERSITY OF CAMBRIDGE DEPARTMENT OF PSYCHIATRY
Invitation to apply to the Cambridge Psychiatry Clinical Fellows Programme
Three Clinical Fellow posts with a 60:40 clinical/academic split
£58,117 per annum, which is based on the guidance from NHS Employers for local appointments
Cambridgeshire and Peterborough NHS Foundation Trust, a designated Cambridge University Teaching Trust, provides comprehensive mental health and community services to the people of Cambridgeshire and Peterborough. CPFT is aligned with the University of Cambridge Department of Psychiatry which is internationally recognised as a 5* leading centre for research.
The Cambridge Psychiatry Clinical Fellowship Programme is a collaboration between CPFT and the University of Cambridge Department of Psychiatry. It aims to broaden access to our sub-specialty clinical and academic training. The programme is not intended to reproduce CT or ST training schemes but to offer unique, difficult-to-access training opportunities tailored to the interests and development goals of suitable applicants.
We are inviting applications for three Clinical Fellow posts. These will have a 60:40 clinical/academic split with a range of specialist clinical options choices (psychosis, older people/dementia, liaison psychiatry, CAMH). Successful candidates will also be able to choose from a range of research or educational attachments, all with leading experts.
These posts are designed to be flexible and can be adapted depending on the seniority and training needs of the applicants. They are appropriate for: 1) applicants who are in between CT and ST training; 2) ST’s wishing to take a year out of programme; 3) psychiatrists who have completed ST training but want additional sub-specialty clinical/research/teaching experience before taking up a consultant post; 4) senior trainees/newly qualified consultants from overseas (subject to visa/work permits) who want to access the specific training opportunities available in Cambridge. Applicants will be asked to supply a personal statement outlining their reasons for seeking the specific combination of clinical/academic opportunities and how these link to their career goals.
For an informal discussion regarding the positions, please contact:
Dr Cathy Walsh, Deputy Medical Director CPFT on 01223 216167.
