Our Care of the Elderly team are committed to providing excellent care for the frail older adult and currently provide stroke services, TIA and falls clinics, orthogeriatric support and general elderly medicine and rehabilitation. They have recently developed an Acute Frail Elderly service to ensure timely Geriatrician review of all our frail older patients when they access our hospitals.

We are have posts available at Furness General Hospital and Royal Lancaster Infirmary. The posts have a 10 PA job plan (comprising 1.5 PAs as core SPA time and 8.5 PAs of direct clinical care / lead role time). You will participate in our Consultant on call rota and work closely with the other specialty Consultants to deliver safe, effective and expert medical care to our patients. We would be happy to support and facilitate special interests and professional development within the team and elsewhere within our specialty

Our hospital was also awarded the prestigious Vanguard Status to develop care in an integrated model across primary and secondary areas in our catchment area and offers an exciting opportunity to help shape the services of the future for older people.
