Specialty Doctor – Urology
Applications are invited for the post of Specialty Doctor in Urology at Ipswich Hospital. This is a new post to join a modern Urology Department comprising five full time consultants and visiting paediatric consultants from Norwich and London.
The department is supported by one Specialty doctor, one part-time clinical assistant, two higher surgical trainees (ST), one core surgical trainee (CT) and two FY doctors shared with the general surgery department. The department is also supported by five nurse specialists with special interest in performing diagnostic procedures and delivering care. The department provides comprehensive high quality urological services to a population of approximately350,000 in Ipswich and East Suffolk.
You will undertake outpatient clinics, theatre sessions and diagnostic procedure sessions independently or under the supervision of the consultants. You will be required to provide inpatient care with support from consultants and other middle grade doctors. This post entails a 1:4 on-call rota for Urology, shared with the other middle grade doctors.
