Consultant in Pulmonary Hypertension (Consultant Cardiologist or Consultant in Respiratory Medicine) – 10PAs.

Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust (ICHNT) was formed in 2007 by the merger of St Mary’s Hospital (SMH), Hammersmith Hospital (HH), Charing Cross Hospital and Imperial College. As the UK’s first Academic Health Science Centre status, the integration of research with clinical care is central to the hospitals mission. The Pulmonary Hypertension Service is based at Hammersmith Hospital. Cardiovascular Medicine is predominately based at the Hammersmith Hospital and continues to provide services at St Marys Hospital, Charing Cross Hospital and several Community settings.

Applications are invited for a Consultant Cardiologist or a Consultant in Respiratory Medicine to join the National Pulmonary Hypertension Service based at Hammersmith Hospital to pursue clinical, exercise physiology, research and teaching activities. This new post has been created to support the growing clinical demands for pulmonary hypertension services at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust as well as at its outreach services.

The newly appointed consultant will work alongside Dr Simon Gibbs (lead clinician), Dr Luke Howard, Dr Rachel Davies and a team of four clinical nurse specialists. The successful Candidate is likely to be able to demonstrate clinical expertise in pulmonary hypertension and exercise physiology, relevant research (including a higher degree) and teaching skills.
