CLINICAL LECTURER (SCHOLARSHIP)

Applications are invited from individuals, from any clinical discipline, who are fully registered medical practitioners and who have a keen interest in medical education. You should normally be in specialty training with an NTN though other applicants will be considered. Experience or knowledge of teaching in an NHS setting is essential.
The Clinical Lecturer (Scholarship) scheme is now in its sixteenth year and aims to professionalise medical education by providing comprehensive educational experience for doctors in training. You will play a key role in the design, development, delivery and assessment of undergraduate teaching in NHS Grampian or NHS Highland. You will also provide strategic support to, and have experience in, the University of Aberdeen MBChB curriculum. You will divide your time between clinical work (up to three sessions per week during normal working hours), teaching, and educational research or development.
The Inverness posts are based in the Highland Medical Education Centre in the Centre for Health Science.The Aberdeen posts are based in the School of Medicine, Medical Sciences and Nutrition on the Foresterhill campus.
Funding is available for a period of 2 years. As either an out-of-programme experience or stand-alone experience, this post can equip you in your future career to lead and inspire in medical education. Please note that one of the Inverness posts will not be available to start until 1 August 2018.
Salary will be at the appropriate point on the Clinical Staff Salary Scale for Staff not holding Honorary Consultant contracts (£32,803 - £58,018 per annum) with placement according to qualifications and experience.
