The Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Birmingham has been recently built, centrally within the UKs second city and is ideally co-located with the University and Research Park. It is a major trauma centre and houses the Royal Centre for Defence Medicine. The unit has developed a strong national and international reputation for research and clinical trials. We are looking for high-quality applicants who will actively support the research and trial activities of the department.
We are delighted to offer the opportunity for up to two highly motivated, ambitious individuals to join a team of 9 consultant colorectal surgeons in our modern, teaching hospital unit. The successful applicant(s) should demonstrate sub-speciality skills which complement the existing service. The unit currently offers treatments for early, advanced and recurrent bowel cancers, surgery for inflammatory bowel disease, abdominal wall reconstruction and a pelvic floor dysfunction.
The post(s) are whole-time and offers 10 PAs with approximately a 1 in 8 on-call commitment. The Queen Elizabeth Hospital is a designated major trauma unit. The applicant should have entry on the GMC Specialist Register or be within six months of being placed on the Register.
