Post-CCT Spinal Fellowship
Applications are invited for Post-CCT Spine Fellowship positions. There are two positions available for suitably qualified candidates. Each post is designed to expose the post-holder to the full range of spinal surgery and to prepare them for independent practice as a Consultant Spinal Surgeon.
The full range of spinal procedures are performed in the unit, including deformity, trauma, tumour and degenerative disorders involving the cervical, thoracic and lumbar spine.
The successful applicants will work under supervision and mentorship for a twelve-month period and there is a requirement that they will also perform and publish research during this post. A salary is provided and additional funding may be available for research and additional training.
The Belfast Spinal Unit is a recognised AO Spine Centre and AO Spine Research Centre.
The successful applicant will have full GMC registration with a Licence to Practice by the time of taking up appointment. They will also have passed the Intercollegiate FRCS examination, have completed or be within six months of completion of their Specialist Training and award of a CCT or be eligible for entry to the GMC Specialist Register in either Trauma and Orthopaedics or Neurosurgery.
