Consultant Physician in Infectious Diseases and General Internal Medicine
Applications are invited for the above post in the regional Infection Unit of the above teaching hospital. This replacement post aims to enhance and develop the close relationship between the acute and general medical teams with the infectious diseases team within NHS Tayside.
The post will take part in a busy modern clinical infection service joining three infectious disease consultants working alongside microbiology and virology colleagues. The infection service incorporates inpatient and outpatient care, HIV medicine and viral hepatitis, outpatient parenteral ambulatory therapy (OHPAT) and infection consultation service including that for bone and joint infections.
The successful applicant will contribute to general or acute medicine including evening and weekend working as well as overnight on-call.
In addition the successful applicant will be expected to take part in postgraduate training and education along with opportunities to collaborate in research, and quality improvement.
Candidates should possess MRCP and be on the GMC Specialist Registrar in Infectious Diseases and General Internal Medicine or be within 6 months of the anticipated award of CCT or CESR (CP) at the time of interview for the post.
