Consultants in Acute Medicine and Infectious Diseases
Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is one of the UK’s busiest and most successful NHS foundation trusts.
Applications are invited for two full time Joint Consultant posts in Acute Medicine and Infectious Diseases to commence as soon as possible.
The two posts would ideally rotate in a reciprocal fashion, on a 50/50 basis between the two specialties of Acute Medicine and ID, and be-tween them thereby ensure continuous clinical cover over both services. The exact nature of the rotation would be agreed as per each appointee and the needs of the service.
The Directorate is committed to the development of specialist Medical Services across the region and active participation in this goal is expected.
These appointments are ideal for physicians accredited in General (Internal) Medicine and Infectious Diseases. This is time tested as we already have multiple joint appointment posts within these two specialties delivering successful Patient Care and excellent Clinical outcomes.
Full GMC registration is required, together with Membership of the Royal College of Physicians (UK) or equivalent. Applicants are required to hold a CCT or equivalent in General (Internal) Medicine and Infectious Diseases, or to be within six months of being eligible for the CCT. Should any further vacancies arise, shortlisted candidates will be considered.
